blogosphere-nets: wrong

All credit goes to the CL’s David Brandt on this one, for doing that whole reporting deal, which involves not just contacting your “sources” (I contacted people within the athletic department today, but in private conversation), but then actually reporting on the record what you discover.
The new media contingent, or what I jokingly call the “blogosphere-nets” on here, swells up with sensitive outrage when established media types denounce message boards, blogs and fan sites (and to me that includes Scout and Rivals) for their inaccuracies. Well, I don’t see any of the blogs or boards that took the Hardy rumor and ran with it owning up to having absolutely no credible proof, or admitting any foul in pushing this thing to a “news item” status.
I’ll do it – I had no proof, I observed on my public blog that the rumor was swirling, thus swirlin’ it more, and now I’m saying that it’s probably false, and deserve my subjectively measured share any fire to be delivered.
