After just 44 years of restricting access to the finest mediocre college football product in the Mid-South, fans in wheelchairs can now access the Liberty Bowl Stadium in accordance with ADA compliance – and get this, use the bathroom, too. The improvements only cost $5 million and came after some gentle nudging from from the U.S. Justice Department, so the Memphis Tigers want to know if you people are satisfied.
Now you’ll probably want to drive cars and vote, too. City of Memphis officials are rather upset, since that $5 million could’ve been spent on far more crucial needs at the Fairgrounds, including a moat to keep the surrounding neighborhoods from staging the next Craig Brewer movie in the parking lot.

Of course, Liberty Bowl access will be a moot point for Rebel fans after Sunday, when the Ole Miss football contract with Memphis ends on an, amicable, tasteful note. The real tragedy will be felt, as usual, by the citizens of Memphis, who have to live in Memphis.

I am Mizzou fan so I don’t have a dog in this fight. I will say that the University of Memphis HAD NO SAY IN THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE LB. It was completely in the hands of the city. So don’t put this on the U of M.
Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, though. VH is a massive dump. Yes, the Grove is amazing. VH is a total POS. So Ole Miss fans really can’t be too critical of the LB. And by the way, nice job taking a shot at the U of M and Memphis for their sensitivy. After all, its not like you are repping a school that basically celebrates its racist history.

Well universal hearthrob, on Sunday afternoon many of the fans in Memphis will be able to sit in the liberty bowl and if they wish enjoy a nice cold one. Afterward the U of Memphis will be handed their share of the profits. The Tigers will not have to clean the place up, stock the supplies for the next game or make any repairs to the stadium caused by unrulely OM inbreeds. By the time the next home game rolls around they will have a fully staffed and prepared stadium waiting on the team and fans. This will cost them very little and they will not have to lift a finger or hire a single person to do the work. Ask any business in America and they will tell you that there is a lot of benifits to leasing rather than owning. We have all the assets and none of the headaches and responsibilities. Plus we hae a much better stadium that the pile of crap sitting in the grove.

The stadium at Ole Miss is not in the grove Rick. Sounds like you have never been to Oxford. Anyone who thinks the Liberty Bowl is better than Ole Miss’s is living in a fantasy world. Even USM’s stadium is nicer that the LB. BTW, ya’ll ready for your fifth straight ass whipping? There are benefits to leasing when you can’t afford to build your own stadium on your own campus.
So by your own admission you can’t claim that the Liberty Bowl is your stadium because it’s not, you rent it.
